Fire Involving Flat And Roof Tackled By Firefighters In Hoylake Road, Moreton

Firefighters have extinguished a fire involving the roof space of a flat above a shop.

Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service was called at 9.13pm on Tuesday, February 5, to Hoylake Road, Moreton, on the Wirral.

The fire involved the first floor and roof space of two properties in the brick building, which measured around 10 metres by 20 metres.

Five fire appliances and an aerial appliance, which has a hose on a platform on an extendable arm to help tackle fires involving roofs, were sent to the scene. Firefighters requested an ambulance to treat a man, who was conscious and breathing, for suspected smoke inhalation at the scene. He was taken to Arrowe Park Hospital.

There were no reports of any rescues.
