Man dies in Scottish food factory fire

The body of a 37-year-old man has been recovered following a serious fire in a food factory.

Around 60 firefighters were called to the Wicken Fen Food factory in Duns, Scotland, at 11.30 pm on 19 June.

The single-storey building, which was partitioned into a carpet factory and a food processing factory, burned through the night. The fire was finally out at 5 am.

Details of the man who died have not been released.

A spokeswoman for Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service said: “Tragically there was one male fatality at the scene. The fire was finally brought under control at 5am today. An investigation into the cause of the fire is under way.”
