Three children and a man have been killed in a fire at an apartment in Chicago.
Fire officials said two girls, aged four and six, and a three-month-old toddler died in the fire.
The blaze early on Tuesday morning appeared to have been started on purpose, police said.
Around 200 firefighters battled for three hours to put out the fire.
According to police, a preliminary investigation suggested a person returned to the building after a domestic dispute and set fire to the rear porch.
Witnesses told reporters they saw several people jumping from windows to escape and officers are searching for a “person of interest wanted for questioning”.
Three other people were taken to hospital following the fire.
